Tough luck for the Meizu

Hopefully it's not too late, but according to AppleInsider, Apple has filed a new patent today protecting the iPhone interface against other companies. This will probably prevent another ordeal like with the Creative Zen, as Apple seems to have emphasized greatly on the "non-use" of their interface on other mobile phones.

This is not an iPhone

First the Zune, now this. Apparently, to compete with Apple these days, all you have to do is copy one of their products, add a new color, and call it a weird name*. Have you no idea what I'm talking about?

Apparently Meizu, a Chinese company is serious about shipping this phone, called the M8. The what you say? The Meizu M8! What a catchy name! Plus, the design is totally original...

Hopefully Apple will do something?

It looks to be based on Internet Explorer,Outlook, and other technologies, so it can't be that good.

And Meizu thinks it will be available in Asia sometime 2008.

*the name must have a "z"

Tommorrow's the big day; will we see the Beatles on iTunes? According to several sources, if the Beatles collection ever becomes available on any online service, it will be available for all online services too. I guess that that's the end of convincing your friends to use iTunes because it is the exclusive carrier of the Beatles music. Oh wait, that never happened.

Time to buy stocks

According to me, the next two days will be a great time to buy some Apple stock. AAPL has been down for a couple of days, which means that it's cheaper to buy for you. However, I suspect it will rise on Wednesday, if Apple adds the Beatles to iTunes, etc... Overall, I think that the rest of this year is going have great opportunities for the stock to rise. Before the end of spring, we will see Leopard of course, and probably iLife '07 along with it. There will likely be some Mac updates soon, since we haven't had any this year, and possibly a new iSight and/or iSighted Cinema Displays.

Of course, the iPhone will boost stock prices in June, and so will WWD2007. After that, we may see more Mac and iPod upgrades. If we're lucky, we'll even get a new wide/touchscreen iPod! Then around Thanksgiving the rumors will start flying again, and stock prices will reflect (remember last year when AAPL hit an all time high because of iPhone rumors?)

Last, we're back to MacWorld 2008, when the stock prices always surge.
But remember, buy your stocks before Valentine's Day or you may have to pay more later.
